Today...

Today I planned to clean the house and get some shopping done. I got a call from Trevor and he needed to use our car so my plans changed. I drove around for a while picking up and taking people and things places. Which was fine I wanted to help. Then I had my nieces over for the day. Glad they were able to come and spend time with them. We don't see them much since they've live away for so long. They are pretty cute girls. It was nice to have girls around for a while. However... it does make me love my boys a little bit more!!! I am a boy mom through and through!! Taking Dallin to school was pretty tricky today. I have 7 kids and 7 seats in my car. Luckily for me I have great neighbors that were able to watch 2 of my boys for me while I loaded the rest of the gang up and took Dallin to school.  Trevor and Jennie treated us to dinner. It was nice to get out of the house for a while. After dinner I brought the boys home and started our bedtime routine. This is one of my favorite times of the day. I think it is THEE most hands on I get with my kids in the day. I know that is very sad but it is true and I do need to change it!! I brushed the boys teeth then decided that they all needed to get in the shower to wash off from an action packed cousin playing day. While they played in the shower I made my bed, I had washed my sheets today. Then I got the boys out dressed them and read them books. Reading books sounds like it should be calming but not when you are me and not when you have 4 very attention and love hungry children. Dallin, Bryant and Asher always want to sit on my lap when we read books but since Asher is the smallest I always tell them that he gets to sit on my lap. Dallin had climbed on my lap first and he snuggled in and it was actually more comfortable than when I hold Asher that I told Asher it was Dallin's turn tonight. However this did not go over so well with Asher who has the idea now that Dallin and Bryant are too big and since he is small he gets my lap. He had a melt down. After trying to read louder than his crying I asked Dallin if he wouldn't mind letting Asher sit on my lap. He gladly jumped off and let Asher on, I think he really wanted to hear the story. As soon as Asher got on my lap Charlie took notice and started crying and climbing at my legs and got onto the couch where he then threw himself on my lap trying to get Asher away from me. There is never a dull moment with me and my kiddos. I told the boys I needed to get Charlie down first before we could read books. Dallin then asked if we could start the book over when we started again. I agreed!! Finally finished reading and put boys to bed. Said prayers and then they were out. It was a good day!!
